The summit will also coincide with the special celebration of ASEAN&#8217;s 50th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-22988\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/11\/23435020_10155932617008854_267460362348512632_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"638\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><em>IMAGE ASEAN Facebook page<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">With the theme &#8220;Partnering for Change, Engaging the World&#8221; and the Philippines as this year&#8217;s Chairman, the 31st ASEAN Summit aims to strengthen the unity among ASEAN members and global partners and together head towards a future where all nations prosper.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The heads of the 10 ASEAN member states are expected to gather in the summit, along with major world leaders like <strong>Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Chinese Premiere Li Kequiang, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau,<\/strong> and <strong>US President Donald Trump<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ensuring the security for the summit are approximately 60,000 forces that will monitor the overall safety, as well as traffic. Other areas that will be on full lockdown are SMX-MAAX Block, Pasay City on November 11, and Roxas Boulevard (from Padre Burgos Avenue to Buendia Avenue) on November 13, 12 a.m. to 12 n.n. The lockdown of SMX-MAAX Block and the CCP Complex will be partially lifted on November 12 and November 15, respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">During a partial lockdown, pedestrians and vehicles without ASEAN IDs and decals can still take the ASEAN routes through the designated security areas. During this time, no boat, ship, or any watercraft can pass through the no-sail zone.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a controlled zone has been implemented from the shoreline of H2O Hotel to the mouth of Pasig River.
