The Phase II of the Laguna Lake Highway construction, which adds 1.3 kilometers to the original 4.2-kilometer highway, has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and is now open to motorists.<\/p>\n

The opening ceremony of the newly paved segment of the highway was held October 27 in Taguig City, which included the unveiling of the first stretch of a 3-meter bicycle lane. This makes Laguna Lake Highway the first highway in the country which has incorporated a space for bikers and joggers, making it more pedestrian-friendly.<\/p>\n

The Php 1.4-million construction of the 1.3-kilometer highway also included provisions for plant strips, sidewalk, turn-out, and drainage works.<\/p>\n

The Laguna Lake Highway project is expected to lessen travel time between Bicutan and Taytay, Rizal by 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

The Phase III of the project, which will add another 4.3 kilometers to the highway, is already in the works and is expected to be completed by August 2018.<\/p>\n
