Primer attended the second day of De La Salle College of St. Benilde’s Multimedia Awards Festival 2015<\/a>. Art pieces in different types of media were showcased on the ground floor of The Green Sun hotel. The theme for this year’s [RE]framed art exhibit is\u00a0break<\/em>. What broke you to become the person you are now? What broke you to become better?<\/span><\/p>\n

ARTWORK Letting Go<\/em> (6 ft x1.5 in x 2.5 ft) is a collage of buttons \u2013 one of the creative pieces that can be found in the Multimedia Arts Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n

One can feel the overflowing talent, inspiration and hard work evident in every artwork. Aside from paintings and installations, there were also interactive pieces. Guests are encouraged to take part in experiencing them.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were also those that combined different media. It was fascinating to hear the stories behind each piece.<\/span><\/p>\n

ANOTHER NOTABLE THING in this year\u2019s festival is the 360 theater where guests can view the videos made by the artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

For the first leg of Conversations, the guest speakers were Manix Abrera and Alvin Zafra. Both are trailblazers in their own field. Manix, is the creator of the popular comic strip, Kiko Machine. He shared to the crowd that he draws inspiration from everyday situations, sights and sounds. Alvin, on the other hand, uses sandpaper for canvass to create vivid and meaningful images. He believes the need to express is human nature.<\/span><\/p>\n

When guests are done experiencing the interactive installations, they may proceed to the Beetle parked just outside the [RE]framed exhibit. One can just doodle away or sign his name.<\/span><\/p>\n

EVERYONE\u2019S BEETLE. Guests are invited to speak their mind by painting or marking this car.<\/span><\/p>\n

Merchandise was sold as well. Some of the displayed pieces are also on sale. Just approach any of the organizers for more information.<\/span><\/p>\n
