Tropical Depression Maring and Typhoon Lannie are both in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), causing moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila and other provinces.<\/p>\n

As of the latest advisory by the DOST-PAGASA at 8:00 am, Tropical Depression #MaringPH \u201chas accelerated and is about to make a landfall in the vicinity of Mauban in Quezon Province. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal # 1 was given to Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Bulacan, and other nearby provinces.<\/p>\n

According to DOST-PAGASA\u2019s Facebook post, moderate to heavy rains will be experienced over Bicol Region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Pangasinan due to TD Maring. Residents are advised to be alert in case of possible flashfloods and landslides.<\/p>\n

As of PAGASA\u2019s press briefing, Typhoon Lannie is in PAR but it is moving towards Taiwan area. TD Maring is expected to exit Luzon in the early morning of September 13 headed to PAR boundary, west of Zambales. It is expected to exit PAR on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Work and class suspensions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In a statement released by Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella and upon the recommendation by the NDRRMC, work in government offices in Metro Manila, Region 3, and CALABARZON is suspended on September 12.<\/p>\n

Also, local government units have already announced class suspensions in all levels (public and private) in Metro Manila, Bataan and Tarlac in Region 3, Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, CALABARZON, and Naga in Region 5.<\/p>\n

Flights and trips canceled<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Manila International Airport Authority has also announced canceled flights (as of 10 am) due to bad weather on their Facebook page:<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority advised the public that it has lifted its number coding scheme today, September 12, 2017, due to inclement weather, as per their official Twitter account.<\/p>\n

Important hashtags to use<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In case of emergency and other important alerts, use the proper hashtags to inform about the latest updates due to TD Maring and TY Lannie.
