Celebrations for the Philippines-Japan Friendship Month may be fading, but that doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s too late for you to show how the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has made an impact in our lives.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s still a chance for you to show how JICA has made an impact in your community through their first-ever JICA photography competition, which runs until September 15, 2017.<\/p>\n

The photography competition aims to highlight stories, milestones, and significance of the partnership between JICA and Philippines and how JICA’s activities contribute to the lives of Filipinos.<\/p>\n

This competition is open to all Filipino non-professional photographers and students aged 18 years old and up. All you need to do is to submit an unpublished, original photo and you will stand the chance to win a mirrorless camera or a 2-terabyte external hard drive!<\/p>\n

Submit your entries to\u00a0jicappcontest@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0to join! Entries must not be larger than 10 MB in size and must be in JPEG format.<\/p>\n

“The Philippines has one of the richest visual arts culture in ASEAN. Through this photography competition capturing JICA-Philippines relations, we aim to tap into the creative skills and talents of young Filipinos to promote good will and understanding involving our development cooperation activities,” said JICA Senior Representative Aya Kano at the launch of the photography competition in the opening week of the 20th Eigasai (Japanese Film Festival) under the Japan Foundation.<\/p>\n

“Engaging young Filipinos through photography is one way to highlight the meaning of JICA-Philippines relations to many Filipinos and how our projects are benefiting the communities,” added Kano.<\/p>\n

JICA, the world’s largest bilateral aid agency, implements Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) with partner countries like the Philippines. Since the 1960s, JICA has been supporting Philippine inclusive development through various development cooperation activities promoting sustainable economic growth, poverty reduction, and Mindanao peace and development.<\/p>\n
