On Wednesday, June 28, PH bet Maureen Wroblewitz made history by being the first Filipina to be crowned the Asia\u2019s Next Top Model of the reality TV show\u2019s fifth cycle.<\/p>\n

Wroblewitz battled with Malaysia\u2019s Shikin Gomez and Vietnam\u2019s Minh Tu Nguyen in the final two challenges of the season.<\/p>\n

First, the finalists were tasked to do a high-fashioned \u201cMotherland\u201d themed photo shoot. Donning traditional outfits from their home countries, the contestants were photographed by world-renowned photographer Yu Tsai.<\/p>\n

For the finale, the contestants were brought to the National Gallery of Singapore where they had to do a \u201cRenaissance Muse\u201d runway show. Wearing X.Q.ZHANG gowns, the three finalists hit the catwalk while being cheered on by family, friends and previously eliminated contestants.<\/p>\n

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach appeared in the finale judging panel, together with show host Cindy Bishop, Yu Tsai (Creative Director), Adele Chan (Editor-in-Chief, Nylon Singapore) and Ruby Adler (Agent, Storm Model Management).<\/p>\n

Despite being the youngest and facing difficulties in the past challenges, Wroblewitz turned the game around and proved that she had more than just a pretty face.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was constantly called ‘a pretty face with no skills’. But little did they know, it would just make me come out stronger and better. It became a perfect motivation for me to prove them wrong and to show them that being inexperienced doesn’t mean you’re a weak model,\u201d Wroblewitz said on her Instagram post.<\/p>\n

The Asia\u2019s Next Top Model season 5 winner received a Subaru car, a modeling contract with Storm Model Management in London, and a cover and fashion spread in Nylon Singapore.<\/p>\n

Wroblewitz will be on the cover of Nylon Singapore July issue, where her Asia\u2019s Next Top Model journey will also be featured.<\/p>\n
