Two young Filipino artists namely Issay Rodriguez and Katherine Nu\u00f1ez were personally handpicked by biennale director Christine Macel for the prestigious international art event named the Venice Art Biennale.<\/p>\n

The Venice Art Biennale is an Italy-based arts organization and contemporary visual art exhibition held every two years. For their 57th<\/sup> International Art Exhibition happening on May 13 to November 26, 2017, entitled \u201cViva Arte Viva,\u201d 120 invited artists from 51 countries participated in this huge art event.<\/p>\n

As part of these 120 artists, Rodriguez and Nu\u00f1ez were picked by Macel when the latter saw their works at the 2016 Art Dubai.<\/p>\n

In Between the Lines, 2.0\/IMAGE montblanc via designboom<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Their work, which is part of the main exhibit, is called \u201cIn Between the Lines, 2.0\u201d an installation art made of crocheted items such as pens, papers, and other school supplies. This piece, as per CNN Philippines\u2019 report, is included in the \u201cPavilion of Artists and Books,\u201d one of the paths created by Macel celebrating the theme of this year\u2019s event. According to the report, the piece is an \u201capproximation of the artists\u2019 experience within the criticality of production and demand in the Philippine Education system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from Rodriguez and Nu\u00f1ez, three other Filipino artists participate in this year\u2019s Venice Biennale. The exhibit lasts until November 26, 2017.<\/p>\n
