The new Puerto Princesa Intenational Airport\/IMAGE DOTr<\/em><\/span><\/p>\nLocated in Barangay San Miguel, the P4.5 billion Puerto Princesa International Airport was designed to accommodate 1.9 million passengers annually. The terminal has a floor area of 13,000 square meters and can seat about 1,500 persons. Aside from that, the 2,600-meter runway can accommodate bigger aircrafts, which have a 400-seater capacity.<\/p>\n
In a report by GMA News, the airport has a state of the art navigation system, and can accommodate about 20 flights a day. Airlines such as the Philippine Airlines, PAL Express, Cebu Pacific, AirAsia, and Air Juan will be using the new airport.<\/p>\n The launch of the new airport was attended by Palawan Governor Jose Alvarez, Vice Governor Victorino Socrates, Puerto Princesa City Mayor Luis Marciada III, Vice Mayor Nancy Socrates, CAAP officials, other Palawan officials, and Korean Ambassador Kim Jae-Shin.
