Preparations are in full gear as the 30th<\/sup> ASEAN Summit nears its mark on April 26 \u2013 29, 2017.<\/p>\n

Senior officials from the ASEAN member states convened in Manila last March 14 \u2013 16 for the ASEAN Joint Consultative Meeting (JCM) and talked about preparations for the summit happening on April 26 \u2013 29 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).<\/p>\n

First row: ASEAN Senior Officials\u2019 Meeting (SOM) Leaders; Second row: ASEAN Senior Economic Officials\u2019 Meeting (SEOM) Leaders; Third row: Senior Officials\u2019 Committee for the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (SOCA) Leaders; and Fourth row: Permanent Representatives to ASEAN<\/em><\/p>\n

The meeting also saw officials exchanging views on regional and global issues as well as taking up progress in building an ASEAN community. Also discussed during the JCM was the progress on building a Code of Conduct (COC) for the disputed territories in the West Philippine Sea.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, senior economic officials from the 10 member countries talked about ways to reduce development gap within the region, strengthen connection, and improve the efficiency of coordination between the community pillars: ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC), the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC).<\/p>\n

These pillars have been identified as the most crucial areas that need to be improved if the ASEAN community is to improve as a whole.<\/p>\n

EXPECT HEAVY TRAFFIC FROM APRIL 26 \u2013 29 as the Philippines hosts the 30th<\/sup> ASEAN Summit at the PICC in Pasay City.<\/em><\/p>\n

As of April 4, the ASEAN and the Metro Manila Development Authority have already put out a traffic advisory regarding the summit. Rerouting will be implemented along the following roads in Pasay City:<\/p>\n
