JobStreet.com recently released their 2017 Salary Report and their 2017 Fresh Graduates Report, which gives insight on which industries pay the most.<\/p>\n

For fresh graduates, Law, healthcare, and journalism all overtook IT for the top spot. Here\u2019s the top 10 for fresh grads:<\/p>\n

  2. Healthcare-related \u2013 23,216<\/li>\n
  3. Journalism \u2013 P21,777<\/li>\n
  4. IT-related \u2013 P21,703<\/li>\n
  5. Education \u2013 P21,457<\/li>\n
  6. Actuarial service \u2013 P21,408<\/li>\n
  7. Training and development \u2013 P20,838<\/li>\n
  8. Banking\/financial services \u2013 P20,092<\/li>\n
  9. Public relations \u2013 P20,055<\/li>\n
  10. Advertising\/media planning \u2013 P19,960<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    For those with at least one year of experience, however, IT still dominates the rest of the field, as shown in JobStreet.com\u2019s graphs:<\/p>\n

    As far as work experience goes, it still pays to be an IT graduate. IT graduates who have at least a year of experience are expected to earn more compared to those who hold degrees in law, healthcare, and journalism which dominated the ranks for fresh graduates.<\/p>\n

    IT was only beaten out by corporate strategists in terms of having experience as they were more prized in managerial posts.<\/p>\n

    As far as where to look for a job is concerned, business process outsourcing (BPO) companies are providing stiffer competition for traditional companies, especially in the fields of healthcare and finance. According to their 2017 report, BPOs have been more aggressive in hiring people with specializations, especially within these fields.<\/p>\n

    Numbers in the salary reports were taken from surveys done in late 2016 (September \u2013 December), while those from the Fresh Graduates report were from surveys done until February 2017.<\/p>\n
