When one thinks of award-winning Filipino brews, one of the first things that come to mind is our humble beer. Local beer brands have been winning international awards<\/a>, which prove that they are at par with the Coronas, the Heinekens, and the Guinnesses of the world.<\/p>\n

One local spirit, however, has always been overlooked, yet has always been a staple in the country for centuries: lambanog<\/em>. It is sometimes referred to as coconut wine, coconut vodka, or arrack; in reality, it is actually neither of these.<\/p>\n
