<\/p>\nCommuters who often use jeepneys will need to cough up a bit more for their trips as the one-peso fare hike starts today.<\/p>\n

This came after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) granted a petition last Monday, February 6 to increase the minimum fare by P1 for jeepneys due to rising oil prices. The fare hike will be implemented in Regions 3 and 4A (CALABARZON) as well as in Metro Manila.<\/p>\n
The fare hike could take effect as early as today, instead of waiting for 15 days after publication.
