More than a celebration, the 71st Anniversary is also a reflection on the journey that the Philippines and Australia have shared over the past years. Formal relations between the two countries were established when Australia opened a Consulate General in Manila on 22 May 1946.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Headed by Ms. Elodie Journet, Senior Trade Commissioner and Counsellor, a business briefing occurred with some Australian businesses operators in the Philippines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12417\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/01\/DSCF2550.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF2550\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" srcset=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/01\/DSCF2550.jpg 850w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/01\/DSCF2550-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/01\/DSCF2550-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Australian Ambassador Amanda Gorely also gave her words and remarks. She also discussed some of Australian Embassy\u2019s economic and business and trade plans with the Philippine for this year. This was followed by a question and answer with the media.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> Amanda Gorely also exclaimed how she finds most places in the Philippines; she mentioned Iloilo as one of her favorite places in the Philippines so far.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12418\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/01\/DSCF2608.jpg\" alt=\"DSCF2608\" width=\"850\" height=\"566\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">\u201cI\u2019ve travelled to quite a few places and I\u2019m really impressed by how diverse the country is, how beautiful most places we\u2019ve visited. One place that we really enjoyed going to was Iloilo City. I felt that that was a place that had really invested a lot of money and energy into the development of the City. The river was a beautiful, clean waterway with great bridges and promenades along the outside.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Australian Embassy is currently hosting some events\u00a0as part of their 71st Year.
