We want the airport to be fully operational again, and to be at par with the best airports in Asia and the world,\u201d Dino said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12340\" src=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/01\/subicairport.png\" alt=\"subicairport\" width=\"600\" height=\"541\" \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Image grabbed from this website <a href=\"http:\/\/fly.mysubicbay.com.ph\/\" target=\"_blank\">mysubicbay.com<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The three interested companies are AIA Airways, Intercontinental Pacific Airways and RIL International &amp; Global Link Co., Ltd.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> SBIA boasts of a long runway fitted to handle long-haul wide-body jets and heavy air transport, but it has been mostly inactive since mid-2009 when US-based logistics giant Federal Express closed down its Asia-Pacific transhipment hub.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The airport terminal is a 200-hectare aviation facility, which can handle commercial or chartered aircraft operation, air cargo handling and warehousing, aircraft repair and maintenance and other general aviation businesses. It is projected to generate 800 new jobs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">RIL International &amp; Global Link Co. Ltd made a $1.5-billion proposal to lease, develop, upgrade, modernize and operate SBIA to include provisions for a modern airport terminal, hotels, theme parks and a sports complex.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Intercontinental Pacific Airways wanted a $48-million airlines operations center including maintenance, repair and overhaul operations.
