Contemporary art takes center stage as Art Fair Philippines gears for its biggest exhibition from February 16 \u2013 19 at The Link Carpark in Makati City.<\/p>\n

Now on its 5th<\/sup> year, Art Fair Philippines 2017 promises to showcase the best in Philippine modern and contemporary art, with works from some of the country\u2019s top galleries including Manila\u2019s 1335 Mabini, the Paseo Art Gallery, and Antipolo\u2019s Pinto Art Gallery.<\/p>\n

They will be joined by galleries from Southeast Asia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, giving Filipinos a chance to see curated exhibitions from local and foreign visual artists.<\/p>\n

Exhibitions from the 46 art galleries will be shown at the sixth and seventh floors of The Link Carpark in Ayala Center, which has hosted Art Fair Philippines since its birth in 2013. A reception and sponsors area will be located at the fifth floor, while The Link\u2019s roof deck will feature talks by personalities from the art scene like Sarah Thornton (Seven Days in the Art World, 33 Artists in 3 Acts<\/em>) and Prof. Ambeth Ocampo.<\/p>\n

THE ORGANIZERS. Trickie Lopa, Dindin Araneta, and Lisa Periquet, the brains behind the country\u2019s biggest contemporary art exhibition. <\/em><\/p>\n

Guided tours will be available for all three days at The Link as well as museums within Metro Manila, namely the National Museum of Fine Arts (a.k.a. National Art Gallery), and the Ayala Museum.<\/p>\n

The Link will also play host to ART FAIR PH \/ PROJECTS: new commissions in the form of interactive and\/or thought-provoking installations by internationally-established Filipino artists such as Jose Tence Ruiz, one of the Philippine representatives at the Venice Biennale in 2015.<\/p>\n

On-loan from the Julius Baer art collection for Art Fair Philippines is the video Telephones <\/em>(1995) by award-winning Swiss and American artist Christian Marclay. It features scenes from over 100 classic films to put together a 7-minute montage of ringing phones and a who\u2019s who of Hollywood celebrities picking them up in dramatic sequence.<\/p>\n

To complement Art Fair Philippines 2017, they are launching the 10 Days of Art<\/em>, a series of events around the financial district that will involve galleries, museums, bars, restaurants, and retail establishments. Noteworthy events include public art installations, Busker performances, exhibition openings, and special deals from their partner establishments.<\/p>\n

Art Fair Philippines will take place from February 16 \u2013 19, 10:00 am \u2013 9:00 pm at The Link Carpark, Parkway Dr., Ayala Center, Makati City. Tickets are available for only P250.
