Image by encrier via Getty Images<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg\u2019s lifestyle news and luxury reviews section <em>Pursuits<\/em> listed eleven food trends to watch out for this coming new year, and one of them is the \u201cExplosion of Filipino Food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As described in the article, Filipino food is something to \u201cget excited about,\u201d as one of the original fusion cuisines which is a mix of Chinese, Spanish, Malay and other Southeast Asian influences.<\/p>\n<p>The article also mentioned various Filipino restaurants abroad that gained attention, such as Washington\u2019s Bad Saint and Manhattan\u2019s Mission Chinese Food where native Filipino dishes like <em>lumpia<\/em> egg rolls (egg spring rolls) and pork belly with pork liver sauce are being served. It also mentioned Talde Miami Beach\u2019s pork <em>adobo<\/em> (marinated pork) tamale offering.<\/p>\n<p>Filipino cuisine was included in the list also because of the various major food conferences that took place in Manila, which brought the world\u2019s elite chefs such as Andoni Luis Aduriz.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from Chef Aduriz, celebrated chef Anthony Bourdain has visited Manila, and Michelin star chef Dalvid Oldani opened <a href=\"https:\/\/primer.com.ph\/food\/cuisines\/of-flavors-surprise-and-aroma-food-by-chef-davide-oldani\/\" target=\"_blank\">Foo\u2019d<\/a> just recently in Manila, too.
