UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES. \u201cThe Philippines\u2019 premier institution of higher learning.\u201d Image grabbed from The Summit Express<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n In the annual university rankings publication by Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, performance of various top institutions across the world are being looked at most especially its teaching objectives, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. UP also ranked 201-250th<\/sup> in BRICS Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017, which classifies institutions in countries as \u201cadvanced emerging,\u201d \u201csecondary emerging,\u201d or \u201cfrontier.\u201d<\/p>\n The National University of Singapore (NUS) continues to be the top university in Asia, ranking 24th<\/sup> on the list.
