El Nido claimed the sixth place\u00a0to TripAdvisor\u2019s list of \u201cTravelers\u2019 Choice Destination on the Rise.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

El Nido, famed for its white-sand beaches and coral reefs, is the only Southeast Asian destination that made it to the worldwide list:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n 8. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain<\/span>
\n 9. Tbilisi, Georgia<\/span>
\n 10. Jodhpur, India<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very happy with the recognition of El Nido as a destination on the rise, especially as this is based on the unbiased reviews and opinions submitted by Trip Advisor users all over the world,\u201d tourism Secretary Wanda Corazon Teo said in a statement sent to Manila Bulletin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teo proudly said that such recognition only affirms the tourism agency\u2019s efforts and initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an affirmation of the Department of Tourism\u2019s continuing efforts to enable quality destinations through enabling regulations and standards. The initiatives to enhance tourist experience are reinforced by recognitions like this. We hope to have more of them throughout the Philippines as we work together with the industry in making our destinations the best choices for the travelers,\u201d the DOT chief added.<\/span><\/p>\n
