With just only two\u00a0weeks to go before Christmas, legendary pop crooner Pat Boone already gave his Filipino audience an early Christmas treat by performing his most endeared Christmas songs and a series of classic hits at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last December 6, 2016.<\/p>\n

\"24\"Pat Boone\u00a0grandly\u00a0enters the stage and perform his classic hits<\/em><\/p>\n

\"17\"Pat Boone\u00a0greeting his Filipino fans<\/em><\/p>\n

Filipino-American singer Aliya Parcs warmed up the night with cover versions of Frank Sinatra\u2019s \u201cMisty\u201d,\u201cThe Way You Look Tonight\u201d and Nat King Cole\u2019s \u201cL-O-V-E\u201d which Parcs described these songs as sexy yet effortless. She shared that performing as front act for Pat Boone is a musician\u2019s bucket list.<\/p>\n

A video was flashed on screen telling tales and highlights of Pat Boone\u2019s journey in the entertainment industry, afterwhich Boone took the stage dressed in a white suit designed with gold sequins, oozing with charm, \u00a0and still swaggy at his age. Accompanied by a 15-piece band including the All Star Jazz band and Boone\u2019s touring band, he opened the night with an upbeat song, \u201cTutti Frutti”, and interspersed his performance with some stories behind the song.<\/p>\n

Boone poured his heart out as he perform his timeless hits in front of his Filipino fans<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is historic\u201d Boone said as he recalls performing ten\u00a0times at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in 1961,\u00a055\u00a0years ago to be exact. He took his audience, comprised of folks 55 and over, to a trip down memory lane through his classic songs.<\/p>\n

He performed \u201cI Almost Lost My Mind\u201d with his famous warm baritone voice then followed by \u201cBernardine\u201d which was the #1 hit on the Billboard Best Sellers<\/em> in 1957. Boone also sang \u201cLove Letters in the Sand\u201d, and \u201cMoody River\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"21\"Boone went down onstage and gave a bouquet of flowers to Star, his chosen fan<\/em><\/p>\n

He also sang \u201cApril Love\u201d which he reiterated the song as being tender, sweet, and innocent. Boone went down onstage and gave a bouquet of flowers to one of his fans named Star. It was then followed by a joyous performance of \u201cSpeedy Gonzales\u201d and \u201cDon\u2019t Forbid Me\u201d.<\/p>\n

After the first set of his performance, he then continued with the Christmas Carols wherein\u00a0the stage turned into an embellished one with an impressive display of festive colors.<\/p>\n

Boone, at the age of 82, didn\u2019t fail to amaze the\u00a0audience with his sultry and velvety voice which he was loved for. It is indeed a great way to celebrate the holiday season with the one-and-only Pat Boone. Hats off to Ovation Productions for mounting this memorable event.<\/p>\n
