<\/p>\nMactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) was named “Asia Pacific Regional Airport of the Year” by the Center for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) \u2013 Center for Aviation in Singapore.<\/p>\n

Image grabbed from Manila Bulletin<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n CAPA, the Australian-based provider of independent aviation market intelligence worldwide, said that MCIA has \u201cbeen the biggest standout strategically, has established itself as a leader and has done the most to advance the progress of the aviation industry.\u201d<\/p>\n The Asia Pacific Regional Airport of the Year award is not the first recognition that MCIA received. It was also hailed as the 14th<\/sup> best airport in Asia this year, according to The Guide to Sleeping in Airports\u2019 website. This was an improvement, as the airport placed 18th<\/sup> in the same list last year.<\/p>\n Louie Ferrer, president of GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corp.
