    Number of cases

    As of 4 p.m. today, the Department of Health has recorded 96 new cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, raising the total number of cases to 803.

    DOH also reported three (3) new recoveries and nine (9) additional mortalities bringing the total number of recoveries to 31 and mortalities to 54.

    Oriental Mindoro records first case

    According to a Facebook post of Oriental Mindoro Governor Bonz Dolor, a one-year and nine months old infant from Ilaya, Calapan City tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, the infant has a travel history in Alabang from March 5 to March 12, 2020.

    Governor Dolor then asked DOH to conduct a “confirmatory test” in the infant’s specimen. Meanwhile, the guardians of the infant who are now in strict quarantine will be tested as well.

    COVID-19 cases in Davao City rises

    As per News5 update, there are already 245 patients under investigation (PUI) in Davao City—164 of this are mild PUI while 817 patients are under monitoring. Four patients were tested positive as of today.

    COVID-19 cases in Laguna rises

    As of today, there’s already 17 confirmed cases in Laguna. In a COVID-19 bulletin shared by Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez, 687 patients are under investigation, 8,859 are under monitoring, while 1,277 were cleared from monitoring.

    Financial Assistance in Pasig City

    Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto shared on his Facebook account that he will be giving financial assistance to all public transport drivers who are affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). For a total of Php 55.5 million, all the tricycle, jeepney, and UV drivers will get Php 3,000 each. The schedule of distribution will start on Monday, March 30, 2020.

    Isolation rooms in Muntinlupa City

    Filipinos to undergo a 14-day quarantine in Japan

    According to GMA News, Filipinos who will enter Japan are now required to undergo a 14-day quarantine. In relation to this, in a statement given by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, nationals arriving from Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia as well as those who are from Middle East and Africa are also included.

    Meanwhile, as per Presidential Communication’s (PCOO) Facebook post, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) announced that starting from March 28, 2020, NAIA Terminal 1 will be accommodating flights to and from Manila.     Department of Health is looking for “Healthcare Warriors”

    In a Facebook post, DOH announced that they are looking for more doctors, nurses, nurse assistants, and hospital orderlies to give help in fighting against COVID-19. Volunteers will be assigned in three NCR COVID-19 referral hospitals including Lung Center, Philippine General Hospital, and Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital.     Fashion, garment industries to make PPEs for COVID-19 frontliners

    In an article from Lifestyle.INQ, the fashion community is now organizing its members to help in the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), face masks and shoe covers for health-care workers as well as COVID-19 front-liners. In relation to this, the Manila Protective Gear Sewing Club led by milliner Mich Dulce is also calling for donations from fabric retailers.
