  • SIARGAO TRAVEL: Sugba Lagoon in Del Carmen Is the Island’s Glorious Gem
  • Update as of January 10, 2019: Sugba Lagoon is closed for rehabilitation until February 10, 2019.

A considered gem of Siargao is the Sugba Lagoon which is located in a sequestered area of the municipality of Del Carmen.

Surrounded by stunning limestone hills, this 87-hectare shallow body of incredibly still water is where you can try paddle boarding while appreciating the serenity of the place.

The Lagoon has a two-story pontoon house with a viewing deck, constructed by the local government unit, to sufficiently accommodate tourists. It also has a wooden diving board where you can take a high angle shot with an epic mountain backdrop.

Going to Del Carmen from General Luna by van or a rented motorbike takes roughly an hour and a half. A separate boat ride takes you directly to the Lagoon.

Entrance to Sugba Lagoon is at Php 100.

Address: Del Carmen, Siargao, Surigao del Norte
