  • To get a closer look at the famous Amakusa dolphins, visit the Sea Donut Aquarium in Amakusa Pearl Center!

Inside the Amakusa Pearl Center, a particular facility is dedicated for tourists to be able to meet Amakusa’s famous dolphins. At the Sea Donut Aquarium, tourists can interact with dolphins up close and personal.

Three friendly dolphins named Haru, Seichan, and Yukun were trained to do various antics much to the delight of guests.

This place is a donut-shaped floating aquarium split into seven different areas. Once you go down the aquarium, you will be transported to seven zones: Asia, Oceania, Europe, Antartica, North America, and Africa. Each zone has its own variety of sea creatures.

When it’s showtime, energetic dolphins showcase their dancing skills as they jump and flap around in their donut-shaped aquarium that floats on Matsushima Sea. A trip to the aquarium will take you to 7 continents at once wherein you can also meet other sea creatures!

Guests can also feed these fun-loving dolphins with a trainer to guide all throughout the experience.

Aside from the Sea Donut Aquarium, there are other facilities in the Amakusa Pearl Center where tourists can also enjoy. Other fun activities that you can do in Amakusa Pearl Center include Sea Turtle Experience, Red Sea Bream feeding, Paddle Boating, Night Aquarium Experience, and hands-on experiences such as bracelet and kaleidoscope making!

The highlight of the aquarium is the dolphin interaction. Guests can play, feed, and take photos with intelligent dolphins. Entrance to the Sea Donut Aquarium together with the dolphin experience is priced at ¥1300.
