This charming island in Cebu called Malapascua, is known for its underwater attractions, most especially for being a diving desitnation. Its name Malapascua has been said to be derived from “mal” a Spanish word for “bad,” and “Pascua,” for Easter. According to locals, the island was named by Spaniards when they arrived there during a stormy Easter.

When going here, one should make the most out of their getaway. Malapascua is the best place to do island hopping tours, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and other water adventures you may never get to experience in other crowded beaches. Here, you’ll meet friendly locals, as you enjoy your weekend trip camping. Malapascua is also known for Monad Shoal, where one can see thresher sharks before sunrise. For those who would like to have an adrenaline-rushing experience, try cliff-jumping in their 50-feet cliff. It’s also a perfect place to have a laidback vacation just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

To get to Malapascua from Cebu City, you can take a van or a Ceres bus bound for Maya port. Then at the port, you need to take a boat to get you to Malapascua Island. Around the place, you’ll see hotels or lounges for your accommodation needs.

Do adventures you have never done before to make the most out of your vacation. See this unspoiled island as it’s truly an oasis in Malapascua.
