Denny’s: A true American Diner in the Philippines
We’ve all watched those Hollywood films where the heroes/heroines/lovers/etc. go on a road trip across the United States. They suddenly go hungry yet do not find any 7-Elevens or the usual fast food chain along the highway, prompting them to go towards an American icon: the classic roadside diner.
One such diner has gone beyond being a mere roadside attraction, and has made its way onto Philippine soil: Denny’s.

Denny’s is a 24-7 American diner that serves iconic American cuisine normally found in a roadside diner. It started out as a donut stand in 1953 with a promise to “To serve the best cup of coffee, make the best donuts, give the best service, offer the best value and stay open 24 hours a day,” but has since evolved into an international chain with over 1,700 locations and a proven reputation for keeping that promise.

To date, it has three branches in the Philippines, the first Southeast Asian country to get a Denny’s. Some of their favorites include their Slams (an American breakfast of sorts with bacon, eggs, sausage, and whatever else you can think of for breakfast), skillets (food in a skillet that’s usually served over rice if you’re at Denny’s), burgers, sandwiches, and a whole lot more.
The best thing though: they have Filipino favorites on the menu! Fill up on Arroz Caldo, Chicken Pork Adobo, or even an early-morning (noon, or night) Bistek Tagalog!
You can find Denny’s at Uptown Bonifacio in BGC, TriNoma Mall in Quezon City, and Vista Mall in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
