ROSANJIN
ROSANJIN is a casual Japanese restaurant at SM Mega Fashion Hall that specializes in Japanese bento sets. The restaurant was named after the famous Japanese potter Rosanjin Kitaoji.

Rosanjin’s interior is simple and straight to the point. Wood and bamboo shoots with splashes of red color are visible in the place. The long wall covered with Mt. Fuji art is also the highlight of the restaurant.

Most people think of sushi or ramen when they think of a Japanese food, but there is a lot more than that. Rosanjin’s menu consists of all-time Japanese favourite home cooking. There are plenty to choose from while in here. You can get tempura, sushi, sashimi rolls, Japanese curry and, of course, ramen. But it was the seafood that really caught our attention.

Grilled Mackerel (Set Menu P390, Ala carte P280)

Philippine Primer recommends their set menu, wherein one can get to try small dishes, aside from the main dishes. The set menu is like a bento but without the appearance of the actual bento. It is good that Rosanjin offers set menu to their meal. It consists of 2 side dishes, Japanese stew and unlimited rice.
Their Japanese stew (miso) is a little different from other Japanese restaurants. It is blasted with vegetables and has pork on it, but it sure works for me.

Gindara Teriyaki (Set menu – P390 / A la carte P280)

One of the menu favorites is the Gindara Teriyaki that is grilled with a sweet and tangy flavour. The gindara fish comes all the way from Japan and is very tender when cooked.

Special burger steak (Set menu P390 / A la carte P280)

In Japan, the burger steak is also a favourite bento ingredient and this Japanese burger steak of Rosanjin is amazing! The meat is tender, moist and smoky. The burger steak has the combination of local pork and wagyu beef.
