  • A hidden Japanese hideout: Hamakaze Dining and Bar
  • Ramen shops are popping up in Cebu like flies; however, people are still trying to find that one restaurant that serves authentic ramen. If you’re still hunting for a bowl of authentic ramen, then you should drop by Hamakaze Dining and Bar in Mandaue City.

Hamakaze is a small Japanese restaurant and bar located a couple of meters away from Oakridge Business Park, which houses a few of Mandaue’s hit restaurants. A blue sign leads you into one of the few places in Mandaue City where you can find authentic Japanese food; blink, however, and you might miss out on a good bowl of ramen.

The size of the restaurant does not take away from what the restaurant brings: an authentic Japanese ramen experience. It only adds to the authenticity, especially when you sip a bowlful of their chicken collagen soup.

One of Hamakaze’s most popular bowls is the Tori Paitan Syo-yu Ramen (P290), a soulful bowl of ramen that’s good by itself or with their equally-popular serving of Gyoza (P150).

You can find Hamakaze Dining and Bar at the AYS Bldg., A.S. Fortuna St., Banilad, Mandaue City. For reservations, please call 032-505-4220. They are open for lunch (12:00 pm – 3:00 pm) and dinner (6:00 pm – 3:00 am) from Mondays to Saturdays, and from 12:00 pm – 12:00 am on Sunday.
