Celebrate International Museum Day at the Ayala Museum this May 19!
This May 19, 2019, celebrate International Museum Day (IMD) at the Ayala Museum, Makati City for free! IMD is a very special day in the year that brings focus on museums. It’s also a day where museums open their doors for free to the public.
The theme of this year’s IMD is “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The Future of Tradition” – the theme highlights the essential role of museums in their respective communities.

Gold In our Veins: Mark Lewis Lim Higgins and Images of Nation: National Artists in the BPI Collection – two current changing exhibits of the Ayala Museum showcase traditional and modern approaches to art that guests will surely love to admire. Guests can also visit the museum’s permanent collections such as Gold of Ancestors, the Dioramas of Philippine History, A Millennium of Contact, Art and the Order of Nature, and Fernando Zobel.

IMD also invites guests to participate in their activities during IMD:
- Story Telling for Kids (3 p.m. – 5 p.m.): join a free story-telling session for kids and kids alike. This activity is supported by the Center of Art New Ventures and Sustainable Development (CANVAS)
- Art Buffet (1 p.m. – 7 p.m.): this is your chance to express yourself and your creativity at their free-flowing art buffet activity station.
Don’t forget to stop by Malagos Chocolate, The Dream Coffee, BPI Foundation’s partners – Make Peace Bakery and Kayumanggi Organic for delicious food and drinks. You can also stop by and take home some of the latest educational products from the Ayala Museum Shop, Abiva, and CANVAS.ph.
