A 67-year “world war”:67th Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament
The world’s longest-running and biggest amateur golf tournament just got bigger as five more teams join the pool of over 200 to compete for bragging rights and a chance to bring home one of six trophies at the 67th Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament, happening in Baguio City this November.
THE LONGEST “WORLD WAR” CONTINUES. The Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament is back. Tee-off is on November 23 at the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay Golf Club.
The Fil-Am Invitational Golf Tournament is a two-week annual amateur golf tournament held at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course of Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay. It started in 1949 and has since become extremely popular with the Filipino and American elite.
Considered the longest-running and biggest amateur golf tournament in the world, the 67th Fil-Am Invitational will bring in over 1,200 players split into 230 teams, with five new clubs joining this year’s tournament: Saint Leonard of Maryland, USA; Hawaii Five-0 Plus of Hawaii, USA; For the Boys of Davao; Sandigan Golfers; and Yokosuka Rising Sun of Japan.
Up for grabs this year apart from bragging rights are six trophies and prizes for various side events, like the popular Hole-in-1. Personalities and politicians grace the yearly tournament, making it a star-studded event.
