PHIL-KOR FESTIVAL: Filipinos and Koreans gather for a day filled with cultural performances. Photo grabbed from Arirang Town Philippines

With the boost of koreanovelas (Korean TV soap opera) in the Philippines, Filipinos has become highly aware of the Korean culture today. In fact, since 1949, the Philippines and Korea had already established good bilateral relations.

To strengthen the bond of both nationalities, the United Korean Community Association in the Philippines (UKCA), along with other local groups & communities, has organized a cultural exchange festival every year to showcase both cultures shared by Filipinos and Koreans.

This event will let you witness how well Koreans know the Filipino culture and the other way around. There will be a competition called “Talent Exchange” where Filipinos will perform Korean song and dance performances, while Koreans have to sing Filipino songs and dance in tune of Filipino music.

The 2016 Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival will be hosted by actor, Robi Domingo, and South Korean dancer, Dasuri Choi. Audience can also look forward to the performances of guest artists like Filipino actor, Derrick Monasterio, Korean singer, Yohan, and KPOP group, The King.

Admission is FREE, but make sure to arrive at the venue early to secure your tickets. Join and celebrate with Filipinos and Koreans for more years of camaraderie.
