  • It’s been three weeks since 2019 started, and January is almost over! If you can’t help but feel like time is going way too fast, why not check out this line up of events happening this weekend:

    ANA Yose Rakugo in English (January 26)

    Witness the 400 years-old Japanese entertainment tradition in All Nippon Airways’ ANA Yose Rakugo in English on January 26, 3 p.m. at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater, Makati City.

    Rakugo is a sit-down comedy storytelling by the Rakugo master himself, impersonating different characters such as Samurai, Geisha, Merchant, Burglar, Child, or the Drunkard, using only two props: a Japanese fan and a hand towel. Invited to deliver Japanese classic entertainment in Manila are five Rakugo masters, namely Katsure Kaishi, Katsura Fukuryu, Akatsuki Anko, Hayashiya Emimaru, and Katsura Asakichi.

    Ayala Museum’s Fiction Writing For Kids (January 27)

    Shape the young minds as the Ayala Museum presents a one-day writing workshop to bring out their creative imaginations to life on January 27, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Ayala Museum’s Fiction Writing For Kids will provide written exercises and brainstorming activities for children to create their own fictional stories from their own minds with the help of Xi Zuq, a storybook author and reader from General Santos.

    Indian Food Festival 2019 (January 27)

    Experience India’s diverse culture and cuisine in this year’s Indian Food Festival on January 27 at the Mercato Centrale BGC, Taguig City brought by the Embassy of India in Manila.

    The Indian Food Festival 2019 is a part of the 70th year celebration of India-Philippines friendship this January. This one-day food festival will feature all types of Indian dishes, exhibits of handicrafts, food tasting, and a cooking demo program for all food enthusiasts.

    ProPak Philippines 2019 (January 26 to 27)

    ProPak Philippines 2019 is the first edition of the international exhibition and trade-focus event featuring the latest advancements in the processing and packaging industry from all over the world.

    The exhibit will showcase innovative products from different manufacturing industries such as bottling, metal detectors, vacuums, robotics, printing, palletizer, and many more. This three-day event will start on January 24 to 26, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

    Cafe Scientifique: Cleopatra’s Needle (January 26)

    Be educated on the know-hows of preserving natural habitats, tips, and dos and don’ts this January 26 at the Mind Museum, Taguig City as Cafe Scientifique hosts Cleopatra’s Needle—a series of awareness talks about one of the critically endangered habitats in the Philippines, Puerto Princesa Palawan’s Cleopatra’s Needle.

    The Good Trade Sustainable Fair 2019 (January 26 to 27)

    Shop for eco-friendly and sustainable items at The Good Trade: A Zero-Waste and Sustainable Fair as they come back this year on January 26 and 27 at the Central Square, BGC. Fair-goers will surely enjoy this year’s fair as they will feature an array of purpose-driven brands, a free workshop, alteration and donation stations, as well as recyclables and eco-bricks drop-offs.

    In addition to their zero-waste campaign, a pay-what-you-want water refill station and a compost drop-off will also be available during the two-day fair event.
