    From the advent of motion pictures in the Philippines—given birth to by a Spaniard, who would have thought that the Philippines, whose cinematic history started from theater and silent motion pictures, can now enjoy a variety of caliber movies produced from around the world?

    This August, Philippine Primer gives you its list of international movies to watch in theaters nationwide!

    Disney’s Christopher Robin

    We first came to know Christopher Robin as the boy with a yellow bear for a friend and an over-all imagination fit for a creative mind. What happens, however, when the playful young boy grew up and lost all room for imagination, washed away by the realities the world has to offer? Together with their friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, Pooh goes out of his way to bring the child out of the woods.

    The Meg

    The Megalodon made its way to Discovery Channel in 2013 as a documentary about the “monster shark” that lived millions of years ago. Although the possibility of the monster shark plaguing the seas is null today, the cinematic universe explores the existence of the 75-foot shark, rising up from the abyss of the ocean, to devour anything and anyone on its path. With Jason Statham at the forefront of this science-horror film, viewers may expect a film, high on adrenaline.

    Nothing breaks a mother’s heart more than losing a child. With only one of the twins surviving from the ill-fated childbirth, what happens next will make the Mary let her protective streak out, to shield her surviving Adam from being captured by a demon. With the direction of Brandon Christen, Still/Born, which was first released in 2017, haunts Philippine cinemas the first of August.

    Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

    Your favorite superheroes gather to bring their fun on the big screen! With the charismatic Raven, the fashionable Starfire, the shape-shifting Beast Boy, the easy-going Cyborg, and the leader of the brood, Robin, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies sets about to put them on the limelight with, of course, a supervillain to try to break their Hollywood fun.

    The Little Mermaid

    While experts continue to debunk myths regarding mermaids and do not completely throw out the possibility of their existence, the motion pictures embrace the mermaid’s existence together with its flawless beauty through a grandmother’s sweet retelling of the fantastical underwater story to her granddaughters—a story-telling even you would want to get immersed in.
