Finn Jones Gives First Look at Iron Fist 2 in APCC 2018
If you’re a fan of Marvel’s Iron Fist, you should have been at the AsiaPOP Comicon 2018 in Manila last Saturday.
During a panel interview, the Iron Fist star Finn Jones (who plays as Danny Rand/Iron Fist) fervently thrilled Pinoy fans with the forthcoming second season of the Netflix original series.
From the start, the 30-year-old actor had been very careful not to slip out any hint of spoilers. Even the showrunner Raven Metzner, who joined in the discussion, was likewise abrupt on giving details. Yet, at the end of the talk, it was utterly unexpected that the two stars gave a special screening of the first episode of season 2.

Jones and Metzner gave a hint of the surprise saying they wanted to talk a little more, turning lucky fans to be more curious and excited. “I’m not sure if they want it enough,” Jones teased.
They then played a clip, but it was Jessica Henwick (who plays as Colleen Wing) apologizing for not making it to the event due to unforeseen circumstances. The crowd suddenly got more confused when she ended by saying there’s a little video to play.
Metzner revealed that this is the first time—anywhere—they are going to show the first episode of Iron Fist Season 2, as its actual date of release is scheduled on September 7, 2018.

The stars first showed the official teaser of season 2 where Danny Rand is already wearing the Iron Fist iconic mask, which fans have been expecting to see since the first season. “The action scenes here are pretty amazing and very intense,” he said.
Both stars said that fans should expect more close scenes of Danny and Colleen this season. “We have a lot of scenes together this time and we are now living together in New York,” Jones said. The actor then shared that he and Henwick have been friends for years even before Iron Fist started, making it light and easier for them to work together.
‘Evolution’ is what Metzner thinks of Season 2. “You’re gonna see a lot of characters evolve in this season. It also has sort of moved into the streets of New York, this time, so the city’s a big character as well,” he said.

Jones, who is also known for his role as Loras Tyrell in the HBO series Game of Thrones, posted on his Instagram story after the event concluded. “[I] don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere as friendly as Manila in the Philippines! I’ve had such an awesome time here! Thank you for the hospitality and extremely good vibes,” the post reads.
The AsiaPop Comicon Manila 2018 was held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay last July 27 to 29. Finn Jones was one of the headliners, along with Tye Sheridan, who is known for playing Cyclops in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse, and Osric Chau who is known for his role as Kevin Tran in the CW series Supernatural.
