  • While everybody thinks of the Metro Rail Transit and Light Rail Transit in the Philippines as every commuters’ headache, the Department of Tourism decided to turn the negative image of the transit into something economically viable through their newest project called “Ikot MNL.”

The Ikot MNL project aims to re-introduce to Filipinos and tourists the beauty and history of the country starting in Manila. While some people plan on touring other parts of the country or the world, why not start off the tour at the very heart of the country, Manila?

Prepare to get fascinated by the rich history of the Philippines as you can choose your tour for the day from their four tour categories:

    • Glorious Architecture featuring old churches in Manila
    • Museum and Arts featuring National Library and various galleries
    • Bargains and Bites featuring the busiest and shopping and dining places in Baclaran and Binondo
    • and the Nature and Nurture featuring local parks and monuments

This July 27, 2018, Ikot MNL will operate the city tour through their train line starting from Roosevelt to Baclaran. In coordination with different tour operators like Intramuros Tours, Old Manila Walks, and Tralulu, tourists can walk around Manila’s oldest,  historical and cultural places without worrying much of the traffic.

Booking, packages, routes and other information will soon be announced as the Light Rail Metro Corporation are still on the works on making Ikot MNL a success.
