  • A ranking released by US News puts Philippines as the Best Country to Invest In for 2018 just in time after the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) has produced the 2018 version of Doing Business in the Philippines booklet. In partnership with the EU-Philippines Business Network, the booklet aims to guide foreign companies interested in investing and/or starting a business in the country.

    During the launch of the booklet Guenter Taus, ECCP President recapped, “In 2017, we saw the 2nd round of negotiations of the EU-Philippine FTA, the first full year of the current Administration, steady economic growth, …, progress in a number of positive reforms, the comprehensive tax reform, as well as the release of Memorandum Order No 16, which seeks to reduce restrictions of foreign business activities in the Philippines.”

    The publication, Doing Business in the Philippines, arms potential investors with more knowledge on the Philippines, laws, policies, procedures and regulations booting investor confidence allowing them make informed business and investment decisions. Topics include taxation, employment, immigration and dispute resolution properly explained in convenient chapters and subtopics.

    Distribution of the booklet will be to the ECCP branch offices in Cebu, Davao and CDO including their European partner chambers in the Philippines, around the region, and in Europe. To aid the modern investor further, an online portal, www.businessphilippines.eu, was also launched to take advantage of the digital avenues and further reach a wide interest in doing business in the Philippines.
