  • In an effort to alleviate heavier traffic jams during the Christmas season, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) together with a number of mall owners and operators have agreed to change mall operating time from the original business hours of 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, changing it to 11:00 am to 11:00 pm which will be effective starting on October 15, 2017 to January 15, 2018.

MMDA Assistant General Manager for Planning, Jojo Garcia said in addition to the late opening of malls, deliveries shall only be from 11:00 pm until 5:00 am the next day to lessen delivery vehicles traversing the road during rush hours. In addition, MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said that through these measures, it would help reduce traffic congestion, especially during payday Friday.
