New Traffic Advisory along Dela Rosa and Legazpi St. in Makati City
On a typical weekday in Makati City, a number of vehicles traverse the downtown area. Traffic congestion in Makati City has reached a critical level in recent years due to the influx of multinational and local companies. Rush-hour traffic can cripple this financial center of the Philippines where distances that pedestrians typically walk in 15 minutes to 20 minutes can sometimes require 30 to 60 minutes in a vehicle at peak rush hour.
To address the mounting traffic congestion especially along Dela Rosa and Legazpi Street in Makati City, the city itself will be implementing a new traffic advisory on an experimental basis making the Makati Ave. to Legazpi St. stretch of Dela Rosa St. a two-way road, while Legazpi St. (from Greenbelt to Dela Rosa St.) a one-way road.
Along with the implementation of the new traffic advisory, these streets will continue to prohibit parking of vehicles on either side of the road. The new traffic advisory will strictly be implemented on September 11, 2017.
