Best Recovery Food for a Hangover
It’s that time of the week again when you feel that familiar heavy, uneasy, and oversensitivity in your head. Fridays and Saturdays are usually the days of the week where many would drink till the wee hours, but we completely understand if it’s been a rough Monday and you just need a night cap.
No matter what the reason behind your drinking—to celebrate or to mourn—the morning after will always there, and it will need to be dealt with. The food you eat might help you with it.
Here’s some of the best food for hangovers you can munch on when you get that usual heaviness in your head again.
Water
Wake up and drink a glass of water to keep you hydrated. Drinking alcohol can leave you getting a headache the morning after as the body tries to get water from the brain.
Coconut water
When you want to add some taste to your liquid, but still healthy, consider grabbing a glass of coconut water. It has electrolytes that restore liquid in the body.
Eggs
Have a hearty breakfast and make sure it has eggs on it. Eggs are packed with amino acids like cysteine and taurine which helps in making your organs function well even after having alcohol in the body.
Banana
You need electrolyte in your body when you had some alcohol. One of which is found in bananas—potassium. You can also add some yogurt to add more taste and nutrients.
Soup
Sip a bowl of soup—miso or chicken noodle to restore the sodium and water levels in your body. Best thing to eat in the morning as it hydrates your body.
