In a media release by the Philippine News Agency (PNA), they said that the government is working to guarantee that the high economic growth of the Philippines will generate sufficient jobs in the next years. National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Undersecretary for Planning and Policy Rosemarie Edillon cited the senior high school program implementation which was “aimed at increasing graduates’ employability.”

According to Edillon, the implementation of this program has helped students to finish education and proceed to higher education or technical and vocational courses. According to the Department of Education (DepED), Senior High School program “covers the last two years of the K to 12 program including Grades 11 and 12 where students go through a core curriculum and subjects under a track of choice.”

Apart from that, NEDA also noted the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2017-2022 strategies for economic opportunities in industry and services. The PDP also works to “create more business activities and employment by providing access to medium and small scale enterprises for Filipinos here and overseas. As per Edillon, this plan also aims to sustain the country’s decreasing unemployment rate.
