Philippines, China sign 6-year economic cooperation plan
To further strengthen the economic ties of the two countries, Philippines’ Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia and China International Trade Representative Fu Ziying signed the six-year trade and economic agreement in a meeting held in Davao City.
In a report published by PhilStar, Department of Finance (DOF) was quoted to have said that this agreement aims to “steer and promote stable and orderly development of economic cooperation.” Apart from this agreement, the meeting also tackled about conducting feasibility studies for the infrastructure projects in the country such as the Davao City Expressway and Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridges.
Other points of discussion they talked about in the meeting include cooperation in agriculture and fisheries, tourism, and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, as per Manila Bulletin’s report.
